After years of being under the Holy Trinity Parish, Bato, CS, the Archbishop of Caceres, Most Reverend Rolando J. Tria Tirona, OCD, DD, administered the rites for the Canonical Erection of the 90th parish of Caceres last October 29, 2014. The new parish of St. Jude Thaddeus in San Miguel, Bato, CS is composed of the neighboring barangays of Niño Jesus, Masoli, and Agos – all barangays of the municipality of Bato, CS. During the celebration was the installation of the first parish priest, Fr. Joven S. Abano.
Archbishop Tirona affirmed the role of the church as the Prophet – teacher, the church is the Shepherd – servant and the church is also a Priest – that sanctifies the people. He also challenged the people to welcome their new parish priest, work with him and pray with him.
The new parish was also blessed by the generosity of the family of the late Dr. Beinvenido Cariño who donated the lot where the new church will be built.
In the same spirit of joy, the church of the Parish of St Jude Thaddeus in Del Rosario, Naga City was also elevated as Archdiocesan Shrine. The said celebration was held last October 28 on the feast of St. Jude. Msgr. Zosimo Sañado, the parish priest, thanked the Archbishop and the faithful who came to attend the solemn celebration.
